Use the pricelist as a guide only. Prices depend on medium, format and your specific requirements which I will discuss with you. All prices are negotiable and depend on amount of detail involved, i.e. if you require a specific item or pattern or a more detailed background which will take extra time. I will consider any special request as long as it's reasonable. A deposit of 50% is payable before commencing. Providing your photographs are of an acceptable level, a true likeness of the subject is guaranteed.

Please use the contact form and send me a message with your order. I need to know what medium and size you want and how many subjects are to be in the painting. I will then reply to you, and you can send your digital image by return email.

I need at least 2 or 3 images of the subject (or more if you have them) as large as possible, they must be very sharp and of high quality. They should be in standard compressed digital format (i.e. .gif or .jpg), minimum resolution at least 300dpi, and at least 800kb - 1MB or higher. I can only a
ccept commissions if there is sufficient detail of the subject on your reference photos. I will not accept sub-standard or blurry photographs.

TIPS FOR TAKING YOUR OWN PHOTOGRAPHS: They are best taken in natural, soft light shot slightly from an angle. Please no flash photos! Shoot as many as you can. Please be sure that you own the copyright of any photographs you are using.
Please inform me of correct colour of eyes, complexion, and hair and any other important details not necessarily obvious from the photograph. The more information you supply the more I will have to work with.
In a perfect world I would prefer to take my own photos (subject to distance, but there would be an extra charge), and also to make sketches for reference. Unfortunately this is usually impossible but I am happy to work from your best quality photos.

I personally believe the most suitable media for portraits are watercolour and oil, although I also produce work in acrylic, pastel, charcoal and pencil. I use best quality, professional materials, papers and supports I can find. We can discuss together the best medium for your portrait.

Once we have agreed how to proceed with your artwork and on pricing I will send you an invoice for a 50% deposit, which you will need to pay before I commence. I accept PAYPAL. Please note that once I have started with your artwork your deposit becomes non-refundable.
It is important that you inform me of your exact return address for despatching the finished artwork with your contact telephone number. (This is required for processing purposes only and will not be passed on.)

Currency is in GBP. Please use the Personal Currency Assistant to convert into your own currency. I prefer PAYPAL (the ONLY payment method from the USA - sorry) but from the UK I will accept a cheque in pounds sterling. BANK TRANSFER is also possible but only in the UK and EUROPE (Euros), please ask for details. Please do not send cash.

I will give you an approximate delivery date when you first place the order. The timescale can vary according to how busy I am with other commissions and time of year (holidays). Typically from first contact to completion takes 6-8 weeks. Once I start your artwork it will normally take around 3 weeks to completion. If you need a faster delivery date please tell me when placing the order.

Once the work is completed I will send you a scan for your final approval, and once you are completely satisfied the remaining balance of 50% becomes due before shipping the artwork to you.

With watercolour it is usually very difficult or impossible to make changes once the paint has been applied, although there are times when it may be possible to make small amendments. However, this will incur additional charges depending on what needs to be done and has to be discussed.

All artwork will be shipped unframed, either securely rolled or in a flat pack, whichever is the most suitable (unless otherwise stated), and every precaution will be taken to ensure that the work will reach you safely. If you wish to use a courier service please advise, and be aware there will be an extra charge, however we only use reputable and highly respected companies (Amtrak or Fedex for international shipping). Insurance is not included, so if you wish to insure your parcel during transit please let me know when you place the order. Please note I cannot be held responsible for items lost or damaged in the post. Delivery time required will typically be around 6 weeks from the date the order is received, subject to my workload.

Please note that I, the artist will remain the copyright owner at all times of all artwork (paintings, drawings, portraits, prints etc.) produced by me, even after it is sold, and it is not permitted for any of my work to be reproduced, changed or used in any other way at any one time without my written permission. You will be allowed to use the image with my consent, but you will not be allowed to claim it is your own. Please also be aware that your portrait may be used in my publicity and for display purposes on my website or online blogs. If you are not happy with this please inform me when you place the order. I will always respect the privacy of my clients and will never reveal any personal details about anyone without obtaining their consent. Your details will be used only to process your order and will not be passed on to any third party.
